The Presidency: The US decision not to grant visas for the Palestinian delegation participating in the General Assembly meetings contradicts international law
SadaNews - The Palestinian presidency expressed its deep regret and astonishment regarding the decision issued by the US Department of State, which denies visas to the Palestinian delegation participating in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly next September.
The presidency affirmed that this decision contradicts international law and the "Headquarters Agreement," especially since the State of Palestine is a non-member observer at the United Nations.
The presidency urged the US administration to reconsider and retract its decision to deny the Palestinian delegation visas to enter New York to attend the meetings of the UN General Assembly, reaffirming its commitment to international law, international legitimacy decisions, and all its obligations towards peace, as outlined in President Mahmoud Abbas's letter to all world leaders, including President Donald Trump.
