A New Virus Spreads in Gaza Strip
SadaNews - Director of the Shifa Medical Complex, Mohammad Abu Salmiya, warned this Thursday evening of a new virus that is spreading within the Gaza Strip.
In a press statement, Abu Salmiya indicated that the symptoms of the virus include a high body temperature, joint pain, a runny nose, and cough accompanied by bouts of diarrhea that last longer than a week.
He noted that hospitals do not have any tests to determine the cause of the virus.
He stated that the virus's spread is due to weakened immunity caused by malnutrition, as well as a lack of clean water, the absence of cleaning supplies, and overcrowding of people in tents.
He added that the new virus exacerbates the pressure on the already strained health system.
He emphasized that ending the genocidal war on Gaza would eliminate all these repercussions.
