German Chancellor Affirms Correctness of Arms Supply Ban to Israel
SadaNews: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz affirmed that his decision not to supply Israel with weapons that could be used in the Gaza Strip has become more justified than ever, given the unacceptable conditions in the area.
Merz stated: "I feel that the correctness of my decision not to supply Israel with weapons from Germany that can be used in Gaza has been confirmed under these circumstances more than ever. What the Israeli government is doing there and what the Israeli army is doing to implement what the government wants is unacceptable."
Merz's statements came at a time when international criticism of Israeli military operations in Gaza is escalating, which have resulted in the deaths of dozens of civilians, including women and children. Merz pointed out that "causing this level of suffering to the civilian population can no longer be justified as a fight against Hamas terrorism."
