Netanyahu Criticizes Trump's Statements During Cabinet Meeting Described as "Boring"

SadaNews Translation - Hebrew Channel Reshet Kan revealed this Tuesday evening that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu subtly criticized U.S. President Donald Trump for his statements regarding the number of living Israeli captives.

Trump said yesterday that there are fewer than 20 hostages alive, and perhaps one or two have died.

The channel quoted Netanyahu during a cabinet meeting held this evening, as SadaNews translated, "I don't know why he says that, what we know is different."

Meanwhile, an Israeli official described Trump's statements to the channel as "regrettable and unfounded; it allows for the bloodshed of the hostages," he said.

According to the channel, more than half of the cabinet ministers were absent from the meeting, while Netanyahu and many ministers did not attend the entire session due to their participation in a settlement event.

It appears that the ministers preferred to celebrate the recognition of settlement outposts and their reorganization rather than discuss the mediators' proposal regarding the exchange deal.

Ministers confirmed that they felt bored and were stepping out to eat during the two-hour meeting.

One minister was quoted saying: "I don't understand why we were called to such a meeting; it was more like a comedy show."

Another cabinet session is scheduled for next Sunday.

The meeting took place in a state of carelessness despite tens of thousands of Israelis protesting to demand the completion of the exchange deal.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid stated that the cabinet meeting today without the ministers even discussing the prisoner deal is another moral blemish on the government of October 7, and I say unequivocally to the Israeli public that there is a deal on the table that can return the captives to their homes and end the war.
