EU: The killing of journalists, health workers, and civilians by Israel is absolutely unacceptable

He added, in a statement, that civilians and journalists must be protected under international law, and reiterated his call for Israel to respect international humanitarian law and ensure an investigation into these attacks. The European Union commented on Israel's statement that a thorough investigation will be conducted, saying: A very large number of casualties have fallen in this conflict.
