Saudi Arabia Calls for Urgent International Intervention to End Famine in Gaza and Stop Genocide

Sada News - Saudi Arabia has called on the international community, particularly the permanent members of the Security Council, to take immediate action to end the famine in the Gaza Strip and to halt the crimes and serious violations committed by the Israeli army against Palestinian civilians. It emphasized that the continuation of these crimes without accountability undermines the principles of international law and threatens security and stability at both regional and global levels.

The Saudi Cabinet meeting, held on Tuesday in Jeddah and chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz, discussed the latest political and humanitarian developments in the region, with the Palestinian issue at the forefront.

The council reaffirmed the Kingdom's support for the outcomes of the extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which took place in Jeddah to address the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip, highlighting the importance of coordinating positions and efforts to stop the genocide and counter plans aimed at entrenching occupation and imposing complete control over the region.

The council also expressed the Kingdom's strong condemnation of the continued Israeli incursions into Syrian territory and interference in its internal affairs, affirming support for the Syrian government in taking necessary measures to maintain security, stability, and the sovereignty of state institutions, and rejecting any separatist calls that threaten the unity of this brotherly country.

Regarding the Sudanese file, the Cabinet renewed its call for all parties to implement the provisions of the 'Jeddah Declaration' signed in May 2023 and to commit to protecting civilians and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid, emphasizing the need to prioritize the interests of the Sudanese people and spare them further deterioration and suffering.

At the beginning of the session, King Salman briefed the council members on the contents of a message he received from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi regarding bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in various fields. The council also reviewed the results of the meeting between Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and the Egyptian president, as well as the details of a phone call made by the Crown Prince with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which discussed the Kingdom's efforts to support global peace and its role in establishing dialogue as a means to resolve international crises.

On the domestic front, the Cabinet praised the ongoing efforts made by the Kingdom to serve pilgrims, welcoming the increasing numbers this year, and affirming that the Kingdom continues to harness its capabilities and resources to ensure the comfort of the guests of Allah from their arrival until their departure.
