Qatari Foreign Ministry: Israel Must Respond to the Proposed Deal
SadaNews - The spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry confirmed that his country continues its diplomatic efforts until the end of the war, stressing that Qatar welcomes all initiatives aimed at ending the escalation.
In official statements, he called on the international community to exert effective pressure on Israel to encourage it to engage with the current proposal.
The spokesperson clarified that what Hamas has agreed to aligns with what Israel previously accepted, making the ball now in Israel's court, which "seems unwilling to reach an agreement," as he expressed. He added that Israeli escalation on the ground is expanding, warning that this "will not lead to positive results."
Regarding the location of the negotiations, he confirmed that "it does not matter to Egypt or Qatar where it is held," indicating that the focus should be on the content of the agreement rather than its form. He also noted the absence of any official response from Israel, whether in acceptance, rejection, or even providing an alternative proposal, reaffirming that communications are ongoing with all concerned parties in an effort to achieve a ceasefire.
