"Education": 18,489 Students Martyred and 232 Schools and Universities Completely Destroyed Since the Start of Aggression

SadaNews - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education reported that 18,489 students have been martyred and 28,854 injured since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7 against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

The ministry explained in a statement today, Tuesday, that the number of students martyred in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression has surpassed 18,346, and those injured reached 27,884, while 143 students have been martyred and 970 others injured in the West Bank, in addition to the arrest of 740.

It pointed out that 970 teachers and administrative staff have been martyred, and 4,533 injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, with more than 199 arrested in the West Bank.

It emphasized that 160 public schools have been completely destroyed in the Gaza Strip, in addition to 63 university buildings, while 118 government schools and 93 schools belonging to UNRWA have been subjected to bombing and vandalism. The occupation's aggression has led to the removal of a total of 25 schools along with their students and teachers from the educational record. In the West Bank, 152 schools have been vandalized, along with 8 universities and colleges subjected to repeated incursions and vandalism, while university classes have transitioned to online due to the current circumstances.
