"Education": 18,489 students martyred and 232 schools and universities completely destroyed since the onset of aggression

Sada News - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education reported that 18,489 students have been martyred and 28,854 injured since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7 against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

The ministry clarified in a statement today, Tuesday, that the number of students martyred in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the aggression has reached more than 18,346, with 27,884 injured, while 143 students were martyred in the West Bank and 970 others were injured, in addition to the arrest of 740.

It pointed out that 970 teachers and administrative staff were martyred and 4,533 were injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, with more than 199 arrested in the West Bank.

It highlighted that 160 government schools were completely destroyed in the Gaza Strip, along with 63 university buildings, while 118 government schools and 93 schools belonging to the UNRWA were subjected to bombing and vandalism. The aggression has led to the removal of a total of 25 schools along with their students and teachers from the educational register. In the West Bank, 152 schools were vandalized, and 8 universities and colleges faced repeated incursions and destruction, in addition to universities operating electronically due to the current circumstances.
