Palestinian Presidency Condemns the Crime Against Journalists in Khan Yunis
SadaNews - The Palestinian presidency condemned in the strongest terms the horrific crime committed by the Israeli occupation army at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, which resulted in the martyrdom of five Palestinian journalists while performing their professional and humanitarian duty in covering the genocide being inflicted upon the Palestinian people.
The presidency confirmed that "the targeting of journalists constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and international agreements that guarantee the protection of journalists and the freedom of media work," emphasizing that it is "a new war crime added to a long series of crimes and massacres committed by the occupation against our people, in an attempt to silence the voice of truth represented by Palestinian media," according to the statement.
It stressed that the continued targeting of journalists and media institutions by the occupation requires urgent action from the international community, particularly the Security Council and the United Nations, to provide protection for journalists and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes.
The presidency also held the occupation government fully responsible for this heinous crime, calling on human rights organizations and relevant international bodies to intervene immediately to stop these systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists, the knights of truth and the voice of free Palestinian people.
