Palestinian Teachers Union Announces Start of Initial Trade Union Measures
SadaNews - The Palestinian Teachers Union announced this evening, Thursday, the postponement of the start of the teachers' duty from the twenty-seventh of this month to the thirty-first, in a schedule that lasts only three days, while taking into account the peculiarities of the lower basic stage and the general secondary stage as much as possible to achieve educational and national interests.
The union emphasized in a statement the necessity for the Palestinian government to bear its full responsibilities towards teachers and employees by disbursing salaries and enabling them to meet their families' needs at the beginning of the new school year.
It warned that all union options will be on the table without exception.
It confirmed the exclusion of the city of Jerusalem from any union measures, while affirming the government's commitment to its full responsibilities towards them.
It called for the postponement of loan installments and the issuance of binding instructions from the Monetary Authority to banks, with strict follow-up on implementation, and for the government to bear the resulting interest.
