Settlers Assault a Citizen and Her Son East of Bethlehem
SadaNews: Settlers assaulted a citizen and her son today, Thursday, in the village of Al-Minya east of Bethlehem.
The head of the village council, Zaid Kawazba, reported that settlers stormed the western area of the village, raided the home of the Abu Khalil Jbara'in family, and assaulted his wife, the fifty-year-old Sihaam Jbara'in, and their son Ra'fat, who were subsequently taken to the hospital.
He added that the occupation forces invaded the area and arrested the family's eldest son, Khalil Jbara'in.
Kawazba noted that the occupation provides protection to settlers during their assaults against the locals, in a clear policy aimed at displacing them from their lands.
He confirmed that the village of Al-Minya, which has a population of around 3,000, has become devastated due to the continued assaults by settlers, which included closing its main entrances from the west and south, in addition to the closure of the secondary school since the onset of aggression.
Kawazba pointed out that settlers had previously seized approximately 250 dunams of the village's land and established a solar power generation station on it, aimed at supplying the settlements of "Ma'ale Amos" and "Ibi Hanahal," which are built on the lands of the town of Kisan.
He called on the international community and human rights organizations to intervene urgently to stop the assaults by the occupation forces and settlers, which have besieged the village and restricted the daily lives of its residents.
