Warnings of a Military Catastrophe in Gaza.. An Occupation Army Leader Attacks the "Gideon 2 Vehicles" Plan

SadaNews: Retired Major General of the Israeli Occupation Army, Yitzhak Brik, sharply criticized the army's plan to occupy the city of Gaza under Operation "Gideon 2", warning that this operation could end in a disastrous failure with a significant number of casualties among the Israeli forces, without achieving any real military success.

In statements to Hebrew media, Brik said that the Israeli Chief of Staff fully understands that the operation is fraught with risks and could lead to the deaths of the abducted Israelis without defeating Hamas. He added that the occupation of Gaza City would only be a heavy price paid by the soldiers for the "political survival" of the current government, which he described as "illogical and disconnected from reality."

Brik pointed out that Hamas fighters possess a network of tunnels that extends hundreds of meters underground, giving them a great ability to maneuver and hide, making it impossible to impose an effective siege on them. He confirmed that the Israeli army may be able to surround the city, but it will not be able to encircle the tunnels that constitute the backbone of Hamas's combat capabilities.

He warned that the prolonged presence of the Israeli army inside Gaza would make it vulnerable to continuous attacks and could lead to a war of attrition that may be devastating in the long run. He concluded by stating that Israel could reach the "brink of disaster" due to the government’s decisions, which lack reality and military wisdom.
