Guterres Renews Call for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza
SadaNews - UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres renewed his call today, Thursday, for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, following the announcement by the Israeli occupation of the commencement of initial steps for operations aimed at controlling the city of Gaza.
Guterres made his remarks during the African Development Conference held in Japan, where he emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to avoid the death and destruction resulting from any military operation targeting the city of Gaza.
He also urged Israel to reverse its decision to expand the "illegal" settlement construction in the West Bank.
