The Foreign Ministry: The occupation's approval of colonial construction in "E1" requires the swift recognition of the State of Palestine
SadaNews - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the approval of the occupation government's new colonial construction in the area known as "E1", including the construction of thousands of colonial units in Jerusalem and its surroundings, which will completely isolate it from all sides from its Palestinian surroundings and drown it in vast colonial settlements and cities linked to the Israeli depth.
The ministry affirmed in a statement that the occupation's approval of colonial construction in "E1" necessitates the swift recognition of the State of Palestine.
It pointed out that this approval undermines the chances of applying the two-state solution principle, embodying the Palestinian state on the ground, and tearing apart its geographical and demographic unity, as well as entrenching the division of the occupied West Bank into isolated regions and cantons that are not geographically connected, making them akin to real prisons where movement between them is only possible through the occupation's checkpoints, amid the terror of armed settler gangs spread throughout the West Bank.
The ministry sees this approval as an official Israeli acknowledgment and involvement in colonial crimes and the gradual annexation of the West Bank within the framework of the genocide and displacement crimes against our people and an attempt to liquidate their cause and rights.
It warned against the international community's coexistence with this Israeli decision, stressing that merely issuing statements of condemnation and denunciation is ineffective in this case and does not provide any protection for the two-state solution, especially in light of the official Israeli boasting of targeting the Palestinian state and working to abort the opportunity to implement it.
It emphasized that while it continues its efforts with countries and their peoples and with components of the international community to expose the racist colonial plans of the occupation, it demands real international intervention and the imposition of sanctions on the occupation to force it to stop implementing its plans and to comply with the international consensus on resolving the Palestinian issue and halting the genocide and annexation, enabling our people to realize their right to self-determination and our state to exercise its sovereignty over all the land occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem.
