After Hamas' Response, Israel Demands 'All Hostages' and Commits to Resolution
SadaNews - On Tuesday, Israel demanded the release of all hostages held in the Gaza Strip, asserting that it is in the decisive phase against Hamas, in the aftermath of the movement's acceptance of the ceasefire proposal put forward by Egyptian and Qatari mediators.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, "Israel's policy is firm and unchanged, and we demand the release of all 50 hostages."
Netanyahu's office continued: "We are in the final decision-making phase regarding Hamas and will not leave any hostage behind."
An Israeli official also mentioned that "Israel demands the release of all hostages according to the principles outlined by the cabinet to end the war in Gaza."
On Monday, Hamas announced its acceptance of the new ceasefire proposal in Gaza presented by Egypt and Qatar.
The movement clarified that it and the Palestinian factions informed their acceptance of the proposal submitted by the Egyptian and Qatari mediators."
On Tuesday, Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid Al-Ansari stated that the latest ceasefire proposal in Gaza, which Hamas accepted, "almost matches" a previous plan proposed by U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witetkoff.
He added during a press conference in Doha: "We received the response, as we said, from Hamas. For us, it is a very positive response and reflects a nearly identical picture of what was previously agreed upon by the Israeli side."
