Australia Prevents MK Simcha Rothman from Entering Its Territory

SadaNews - The Hebrew Channel 12 reported that Australian authorities have prevented Knesset member Simcha Rothman, affiliated with the "Religious Zionism" party, from entering its territory, one day before his arrival at a Jewish community conference.

Channel 13 in Hebrew quoted the Australian Interior Ministry as saying: "We will prohibit the entry of anyone who spreads messages of division and hate."

MK Rothman commented on his ban from entering Australia by saying: "The decision is anti-Semitic and supports terrorism, and it is directed against Israel and Jews in Australia."

Rothman is known for his prominent role in leading the controversial judicial reform plan within Israel, where he serves as the head of the Knesset's Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee.

The decision comes in the context of some Western countries tightening their measures against Israeli figures in light of the war in Gaza, which has sparked widespread international criticism over clear human rights violations.

It is noteworthy that Australia recently barred the entry of two Israeli soldiers into its territory and opened investigations into their involvement in war crimes or mistreatment of prisoners during military operations in Gaza.
