
23.2 Billion Dinars in Digital Payments for Jordanians in 7 Months
SadaNews - The electronic payment sector in the Kingdom continues to grow and expand, with the increasing use of instant digital payment methods among Jordanians that have facilitated their daily and work lives. It recorded a new record level during the first seven months of this year, amounting to nearly 23.2 billion dinars, according to official figures.
According to the indicators of the three main instant payment systems (Click, JoMoPay, and eFawateerCom), and with the payments through these systems reaching this new record level, they have increased by 6.7 billion dinars, an annual growth rate of 40%, compared to the value recorded in the first seven months of last year, when it reached 16.5 billion, according to Al-Ghad.
The figures for instant digital payments include three instant digital payment systems operating in the Kingdom: "Click", "JoMoPay", and "eFawateerCom". The numbers show that the "Click" instant payment system currently surpasses all other systems in terms of the number of transactions and their value.
This comes at a time when official figures indicate that the number of mobile phone users today exceeds 8 million, and the number of internet users with all its wired and wireless technologies exceeds 11 million.
According to monitoring conducted by Al-Ghad, the value of instant digital payments through the three systems during the first seven months was distributed as follows: "Click" accounted for 10.75 billion dinars, the electronic wallet system "JoMoPay" accounted for about 3.56 billion dinars, and the bill presentation and payment electronically system "eFawateerCom" accounted for about 8.89 billion dinars.
In related news, data showed that the total number of payment transactions across all instant digital payment systems during the first seven months of this year reached nearly 180 million transactions.
According to the data, the number of payments through all systems increased by 18.8 million transactions, with a total of 74 million transactions and a growth rate of up to 69%, compared to the number of transactions recorded in the first seven months of last year, which was around 106 million payment transactions.
Regarding the number of users for each system, the figures showed that the number of users of the "eFawateerCom" system reached approximately 4.8 million users by the end of July.
The numbers indicated that the number of users of the mobile payment system "JoMoPay" reached approximately 2.63 million users by the end of July. As for the number of users of the "Click" instant payment system, it reached approximately 1.92 million users.
