Smotrich: Protests Serve Hamas and Push Israel to Surrender
SadaNews - Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich stated that "the protests are harmful, serve Hamas, bury the hostages, push Israel to surrender, and endanger its security and future."
Today, Sunday, Israeli protesters closed streets in many places across Israel and gathered in front of the homes of ministers in response to a strike called by the families of the captives to pressure the government and demand a prisoner exchange deal.
Israeli media reported that dozens of demonstrators gathered in front of the homes of ministers, including the Minister of Defense Yoav Galant, the Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, the Minister of Education Yoav Kisch, and the Minister for the Negev and Galilee Itzhak Wasserlauf.
It was reported that demonstrations started in more than 350 locations, while hundreds of demonstrators from Tel Aviv University blocked the main Mordechai Namir road in Tel Aviv in both directions, calling for the return of the captives held in Gaza and the cessation of the war.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that protesters blocked Highway 1 at the entrance to Jerusalem to demand the return of those held in the Gaza Strip, and noted that hundreds of activists closed the Ayalon highway near Tel Aviv to demand that Israeli captives not be sacrificed.
Additionally, Haaretz confirmed the arrest of a protester who blocked a street in the city of Rehovot, south of Tel Aviv, during the demonstrations.
