SadaNews - The Deputy Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, Hussein Al-Sheikh, visited on Saturday the family of the Palestinian prisoner and freedom fighter Marwan Barghouthi in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.
This visit, according to Al-Sheikh's office, comes within the context of affirming the steadfast Palestinian position regarding the prisoners' issue as a national priority.
Al-Sheikh was accompanied during this visit by Raed Abu Al-Hammas, the Minister of the Authority for Prisoners and Released Prisoners, and Muwafaq Suhweil, Secretary of the Fatah Movement in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh region, along with several members of the regional committee.
During the visit, Al-Sheikh affirmed that the treatment of prisoners due to Israeli policies is a slow execution that necessitates the intervention of international bodies and organizations to protect them.
He emphasized that Barghouthi symbolizes the Palestinian struggle, stressing that the Palestinian leadership is making continuous efforts on all levels for his release and the release of all prisoners in Israeli occupation jails.
