Trump Gives Green Light to Expand Aggression on Gaza: Hamas Cannot Stay There
SadaNews - US President Donald Trump approved the "need" for an additional Israeli military operation in Gaza, during a conversation he had with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to Israeli Channel 12, in a report aired this Monday evening.
The report quoted an Israeli official familiar with the details of the conversation between the Israeli Prime Minister and the US President, stating that "Trump agreed in his talks with Netanyahu on the need for an additional military operation in Gaza."
Additionally, the same source mentioned that Trump granted Netanyahu a broad margin, allowing him military freedom and to expand the aggression on Gaza.
Trump: "I will not say whether I agree with the Cabinet decision or not."
Channel 12 also reported Trump as saying, "Hamas will not allow the hostages to be released in a deal, in the current situation; I believe this is very difficult."
The US President added, "Israel will make a decision on whether it will allow Hamas to stay there (in Gaza), and Hamas cannot stay in Gaza (in his opinion); remember October 7, 2023," fully adopting the Israeli narrative, which gives a green light to Tel Aviv to continue its massacres in the Gaza Strip.
Trump stated, "I will not say whether I agree with the Cabinet decision (which approved the occupation of Gaza City and the expansion of military operations in the sector) or not," but he added, "My conversation with Bibi (Benjamin Netanyahu) was good."
Moreover, Netanyahu claimed on Sunday evening that Tel Aviv does not aim to occupy Gaza but rather to create a civilian administration in the sector that does not follow Hamas or the Palestinian Authority, during a press conference for foreign media, which was filled with repeated statements and an attempt to justify the humanitarian tragedy in the sector, as well as to justify the occupation of Gaza and the expansion of military operations, despite his claims to the contrary; however, the same statements confirm the Israeli intentions and efforts regarding the occupation.
The office of the Israeli Prime Minister announced late Sunday that Netanyahu spoke with the US President, adding that "the two sides discussed Israel's plans to control what remains of Hamas strongholds in Gaza to end the war, release the hostages, and defeat Hamas," while the Israeli Prime Minister thanked Trump for his steadfast support for Israel since the beginning of the war.
Israeli Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, stated on Monday that his army is currently at the "beginning of a new phase of fighting" in Gaza, noting that this comes according to objectives set by the Israeli government.
Earlier on Monday, the Israeli Prime Minister said during the inauguration ceremony of the Knesset Museum in the "Beit Frumin" building, which was the first headquarters for the Knesset in Jerusalem, that "the war in Gaza is close to its end along with the liberation of all those held captive, and we are working to defeat what remains of the Iranian axis," referring to Hamas.
