Smotrich: My Plan is to Occupy Large Parts of the Gaza Strip and Settle There
SadaNews - The extremist Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called on Monday for the occupation of large parts of the Gaza Strip and for settlement there.
Smotrich stated in remarks to the "Kan" radio station affiliated with the official Hebrew broadcasting authority: "My plan is for large parts of Gaza to be under our control and sovereignty, and we can also settle there."
He claimed that "this is the only way to maintain security; this is not the prime minister's plan, I am aware of that."
On Saturday, Smotrich said in a video clip that during the last meeting of the "Cabinet" (early Friday) he lost confidence that Netanyahu is capable of "victory" in Gaza.
The extremist minister opposes the "gradual plan" to comprehensively occupy Gaza, as he desires a quick and immediate occupation through a wide military operation, along with reviving settlement in the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli occupying government's smaller ministerial council, the "Cabinet," approved early Friday the occupation of Gaza City and the expansion of aggression in the Strip.
