The Occupation Army Studies the Attack Plan on Gaza City and the Number of Soldiers
SadaNews - After the Israeli occupation government approved the plan to completely occupy the Gaza Strip, military officials revealed that the army may take at least another week to assess the number of troops needed for the attack on Gaza City.
The officials stated that it may take at least another week to finalize the outlines of the plans for the new attack, according to the "Times of Israel" newspaper.
They also added that once the outlines are ready, the army will know the number of troops required and the duration of their stay.
They noted that the reserve forces will be called up for recruiting in any case - either for the attack, or for the rotation of permanent troops on other fronts, or both.
It is worth noting that Israel has summoned since the attack on October 7, 2023, launched by Hamas, around 287,000 reserve soldiers at this advanced stage.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the military plans to occupy Gaza City are not yet clear, including the paths of incursion and whether the occupation will happen all at once or in stages. The authority added that the Israeli army believes it will deploy all regular forces to Gaza, while the task of other fronts will be assigned to reserve forces.
On Friday, the Israeli ministerial cabinet (Security Cabinet) approved a plan starting with the occupation of Gaza City (North), pushing its population of about one million residents to the south, then surrounding the city and conducting incursions into residential areas.
This will be followed by a second phase involving the occupation of the refugee camps in the central sector, which Israel destroyed large parts of. On the other hand, this plan has faced numerous criticisms and condemnations from both within Israel and abroad.
The opposition and families of Israeli prisoners have accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of wanting to prolong the war to ensure the survival of his government and maintain his political future.
Additionally, the United Nations and many leaders of European and Arab countries have warned of the worsening humanitarian crisis and tragedy in Gaza if this Israeli plan is executed.
