UNRWA: Gaza Faces Severe Shortage of Hygiene Supplies and Soap Has Become Rare

SadaNews - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated that residents of the Gaza Strip are facing a severe shortage of basic hygiene supplies, and obtaining soap has become almost impossible.

UNRWA explained in a brief statement via the "X" platform that millions of bars of soap are sold globally every day and are easily accessible, but in Gaza, even soap has become very difficult to obtain.

It confirmed that a regular flow of basic hygiene supplies, including soap, shampoo, and sanitary pads, is an urgent necessity, stressing that delivering these widespread aids to those in dire need in the sector can only be done through the United Nations, including UNRWA.

Since the early hours of Saturday, the occupation continues its demolition operations on residential buildings in northern Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip, as the genocide war enters its 673rd consecutive day.

The number of victims from the fire of the occupation army among residents and those waiting for aid reached, in the last 24 hours, 72 martyrs and 314 injured, raising the total number of casualties since October 7, 2023, to 61,330 martyrs and 152,359 injuries, including 1,772 martyrs and more than 12,249 injured among those waiting for aid.
