American Channel: Trump Yelled at Netanyahu Over Famine in Gaza
SadaNews - The American NBC channel revealed today (Friday) that on July 28, a tense conversation took place between President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Gaza.
According to the channel, the conversation escalated into shouting between them due to concerns in the White House regarding the behavior of the Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF), amidst reports of many casualties near distribution centers.
The channel quoted a senior American official, two former senior officials, and a Western source familiar with the details, stating that Trump was angry with Netanyahu.
The day before that conversation, Netanyahu stated that there is no starvation policy in Gaza, and there is no starvation in Gaza. The next day, when Trump was asked about the matter during his visit to Scotland, he contradicted Netanyahu's words, saying: "I saw images of children in Gaza who look extremely hungry. There is real hunger, and that cannot be faked."
Netanyahu requested an urgent phone call with Trump, and they spoke within hours. According to sources familiar with the conversation, Netanyahu claimed to Trump that reports of famine in Gaza are false and intended as Hamas propaganda, and Trump interrupted him by shouting: "I am not prepared to hear that it is false, and my team has provided me with evidence that children in Gaza are indeed starving."
An American official described the conversation as "largely one-sided, with Trump doing most of the talking," adding, "The United States does not only feel that the situation is critical, but it is also responsible for it, thanks to the Gaza Humanitarian Fund."
Following the conversation, the White House sent Steve Whitcomb, the special envoy for the Middle East, to visit the region in an attempt to formulate an agreed action plan for the continuation of the war.
According to sources, the Israelis expressed relief at Whitcomb's visit, believing they were able to brief him on the difficulties facing Israel. They explained to him their reasons for believing that there are international parties interested in the failure of the aid fund, and Whitcomb questioned whether current aid efforts are sufficient or should be expanded. After the visit, he returned to the United States and updated Trump on the latest developments on Monday.
After Whitcomb's visit to the relief fund's distribution center, accompanied by the American ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, the Americans announced their readiness to establish new centers for food distribution to the population.
Huckabee stated yesterday that the plan aims to increase the number of food distribution centers from 4 to 16.
