Berlin Police Continue Pursuit of Those Raising Pro-Palestine Slogans
SadaNews - The German police stated they are obligated to register the identities of suspects (those chanting pro-Palestine slogans), adding that "if there are initial suspicions of a crime, we are obligated to pursue it and prevent its continuation".
German cities have seen a consistent rise in demonstrations where protesters raise pro-Palestine slogans such as "From the river to the sea, Palestine is free", which some courts in the country have criminalized.
Police spokesperson Anya Dirrsche explained that "a clarification from a higher court regarding criminal liability (for chanting pro-Palestine slogans) would be extremely important for all of us".
The German Ministry of the Interior had previously classified the slogan "From the river to the sea, Palestine is free" as a symbol of the banned Hamas movement.
