8 Deaths Due to Famine and Malnutrition in the Past 24 Hours
SadaNews: The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced today, Tuesday, the death of 8 citizens due to famine and malnutrition, recorded by hospitals in the Gaza Strip during the past 24 hours.
It reported that among the 8 cases, there was one child and 7 adults, raising the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition to 188 martyrs, including 94 children.
It is noteworthy that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen amid the siege and shortages of food and medical supplies, as severe famine intertwines with a genocide being perpetrated by Israel since October 7, 2023.
Since March 2, 2025, the occupying authorities have closed all crossings with the sector and have prevented the entry of most food and medical aid, leading to the spread of famine within the sector.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) had warned that malnutrition among children under the age of five had doubled between March and June due to the ongoing siege.
The World Health Organization confirmed that the levels of malnutrition in Gaza have reached alarming levels, stating that the deliberate blockade and delays in aid have caused the loss of many lives, and that nearly one in five children under the age of five in Gaza City suffers from acute malnutrition.
