Israel is studying fundamental amendments to the air defense system to "protect the borders"
SadaNews - The Hebrew newspaper Ma'ariv reported that the Israeli Air Force intends to make important decisions soon regarding the structure of the air defense system on the borders, in light of the ongoing investigations following the attacks of October 7.
The investigations concluded that there is a necessity to establish an air force under the border protection force, which will enable every regional division commander to have an aerial vehicle capable of immediate response and engagement with any ground force attempting to breach the borders.
In line with this new approach, the Israeli Air Force is currently studying the use of "Air Tractor" and "Black Hawk" aircraft as potential options to support the border air defense system, enhancing rapid response and operational effectiveness.
