The Martyrdom of Administrative Detainee Ahmed Saeed Saleh Tazaa' in the Occupation Prisons
SadaNews - The Civil Affairs Authority has informed the Palestinian Prisoners and Released Prisoners Authority, and the Prison Club, about the martyrdom of the administrative detainee Ahmed Saeed Saleh Tazaa' (20 years old) from Jenin, in "Megiddo" prison, where he had been detained since 6/5/2025, without providing detailed information regarding the circumstances of his martyrdom.
The Authority and the Club added in a joint statement that "Megiddo" prison, where detainee Tazaa' was held, has been one of the most notorious prisons where serious crimes have been recorded, especially with the continued spread of scabies (scabiosis), which the prison administration has turned into a clear tool for killing more prisoners.
The statement pointed out that with the martyrdom of detainee Tazaa', the number of martyrs among prisoners and detainees since the beginning of the genocide has risen to (76) martyrs, and these are only those whose identities have been confirmed in light of the ongoing crime of enforced disappearance. This phase in the history of the prisoners' movement and our Palestinian people is the bloodiest, with the confirmed number of martyrs in the prisoners' movement since 1967 until today reaching (313) martyrs, according to documented data from institutions.
The two institutions stressed that the unprecedented increase in the rate of martyrdom among prisoners and detainees reiterates that the occupation prison system continues to implement a slow death policy against them. No month goes by without us receiving a new name of a martyr from the prisoners' movement, and with the continuing commission of crimes inside the prisons, the number of martyrs is likely to rise as more time passes with thousands of prisoners and detainees held under conditions that lack the most basic elements of life, exposing them daily to systematic crimes, the most prominent of which include: torture, starvation, assaults in all forms, medical crimes, sexual assaults, and deliberate imposition of conditions that lead to them suffering from serious and contagious diseases, especially scabies, in addition to unprecedented policies of plunder and deprivation.
The authority and the club added that the crime of martyrdom of detainee Tazaa' is added to the record of the Israeli savage system, which has practiced and continues to practice all forms of crimes aimed at killing prisoners, as part of a continuing extermination policy.
The two institutions continued: "While the world calls for the release of the occupation's prisoners, it ignores the continued systematic killings of our detainees and the torture crimes that exceed the ability to describe."
The authority and the club held the occupation authorities fully responsible for the martyrdom of detainee Tazaa', renewing their demands to the international human rights system to take effective decisions to hold the leaders of the occupation accountable for the war crimes they commit against our people, impose clear sanctions that isolate the occupation internationally, restore the fundamental role of the human rights system for which it was established, and put an end to the terrifying state of paralysis it has suffered during the extermination war, and end the exceptional immunity granted by the world to the occupying state, as if it were above the law and accountability.
