13 Injured and Sick Children from Gaza Arrive in Spanish Hospitals for Treatment
SadaNews - A group of 13 children from the Gaza Strip, who are injured and sick, have arrived in Spain accompanied by family members to begin treatment in Spanish hospitals.
The children were transported by Red Cross ambulances after being flown by a Spanish Air Force plane from Jordan to Zaragoza Air Base, to medical centers that will provide them the necessary care in the regions of Catalonia, the Basque Country, Navarra, and Asturias.
They were welcomed by Spanish Health Minister Monica Garcia, along with Khaldoun Al-Masri, the Chargé d'Affaires of the State of Palestine in Spain, and the government's representative in Aragon, Fernando Beltrán Peláez. Ibrahim Abayat, the head of the Palestinian community in Aragon, was also present.
Minister Garcia emphasized that "Spain is a country of solidarity, welcoming, caring, and not turning its back on suffering, but we know that this is not enough, and we must go beyond that".
She called for an "immediate ceasefire from Israel, allowing humanitarian aid to provide basic medical care, and permitting food entry without any obstacles, so that the civilian population can live in peace in a Palestinian state recognized by our country".
