President Abbas Receives a Phone Call from the Dutch Prime Minister
SadaNews - The President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas received a phone call this Thursday evening from Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
The President emphasized the priority of achieving an immediate and permanent ceasefire, expediting the entry of humanitarian aid to stop the war of starvation, the release of hostages and prisoners, and the full assumption of responsibilities by the State of Palestine in the Gaza Strip, as well as a complete Israeli withdrawal. Additionally, he called for achieving comprehensive calm in the West Bank to halt settlement expansion and annexation attempts, to stop the terrorism of settlers, to release the withheld Palestinian funds, and to prevent attacks on holy religious sites of both Islam and Christianity.
The President praised the results achieved at the international peace conference in New York, highlighting the importance of building on that in the meetings of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly next September and thereafter.
He also commended the Netherlands' declaration of commitment to international law as a basis for the political process based on the principle of a two-state solution, as well as the sanctions imposed on settlers, reiterating the significant role that the Netherlands can play in achieving peace and stability in the region.
At the end of the call, an agreement was reached to continue coordination and joint work for peace, and to enhance bilateral relations between the State of Palestine and the Netherlands at various levels.
