Sa'ar summons the Dutch ambassador and Ben Gvir responds to her decision against him

Translation by SadaNews - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar summoned the Dutch ambassador to Israel, Mariëtte Schurman, on Tuesday evening, following her country's decision to prevent extremist ministers from entering its territory.

Sa'ar informed the Dutch ambassador, according to a statement from the Israeli Foreign Ministry as translated by SadaNews, that his government's policy towards Israel fuels anti-Semitism in the Netherlands.

The Israeli Foreign Minister emphasized that Israel will not succumb to jihadist elements, as he described them.

Sa'ar stated during the conversation that pressure should be directed at Hamas, not Israel.

The Netherlands had confirmed that it would impose a ban on the two Israeli ministers, Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir, from entering its territory, accusing them of repeatedly inciting violence against Palestinians and calling for ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

In response, Ben Gvir said: "Even if I am banned from entering all of Europe, I will continue to work for our country and call for the downfall of Hamas and support our fighters; it seems there are places in Europe where the Jewish minister is not welcome, while terrorists are welcomed," as translated by SadaNews.

The Dutch decision came following similar actions taken by Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Norway last month.

The Dutch government stated that it supports the European Union's recommendation to limit Israel's access to its main research funding program, adding that it will push for the imposition of European trade sanctions if it is found that Israel is violating its agreement with the EU regarding increasing aid supplies.
