Israeli Media: Israel Will Study a Plan to Separate Areas of the Gaza Strip from Each Other
Translation by SadaNews - Israeli media outlets reported on Monday evening that the Israeli army will present to the small ministerial committee "the cabinet" this evening a comprehensive plan to separate the areas of the Gaza Strip from one another.
According to the Hebrew Channel Reshet Kan, as translated by SadaNews, the plan is based on imposing a strict siege on various areas of the strip, especially its northern parts, along with expanding ground maneuvers in areas not previously entered.
The channel quoted a source familiar with the details of the plan, stating that the Israeli army was not asked to present any plan regarding a complete occupation of the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, another source described the current situation as the worst for Israel amid ongoing negotiations and the continued killing of soldiers in Gaza, as Hamas does not feel exhausted either, alongside the statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump confirming the existence of famine in Gaza.
The channel noted that despite the stalemate in negotiations, communications are still ongoing between Israel, Qatar, and Egypt, especially at the level of intelligence agencies.
It pointed out that Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer will meet in Washington this week with U.S. envoy Steve Wittkoff, and their meeting will focus on negotiations, the situation in Gaza, and the Iranian file.
Meanwhile, Channel 12 reported that the Israeli army will present to the cabinet a plan to expand its operations in Gaza, including areas where it refrained from maneuvering, in addition to a detailed plan to tighten the siege on northern Gaza.
It quoted a security source saying, as translated by SadaNews, that what is now required is much greater pressure from the United States on Qatar to pressure Hamas, and this is the only thing that can save the deal.
