American Senator: Israel Will Do in Gaza "What We Did in Tokyo and Berlin"
Translation SadaNews - American Senator Lindsey Graham (Republican from South Carolina) said in an interview with NBC: "Israel will do in Gaza what we did in Tokyo and Berlin."
He added, according to SadaNews translation, that he hopes for "a better future for the Palestinians," which may witness "Arab control over the West Bank and Gaza."
Graham confirmed that the world is expected to witness a change in Israel's strategy regarding the Gaza war.
The interview came after U.S. President Donald Trump's call for Israel to "finish the mission," and the summoning of Israel and the United States for delegations of hostages after claiming that Hamas would not take negotiations seriously.
Graham said: "I think President Trump has concluded, and I have certainly come to a conclusion, that there is no way to negotiate an end to this war with Hamas."
He added, "Hamas is a terrorist organization established to destroy the state of Israel. They are religious Nazis. They hold Israeli hostages. I think Israel has come to the conclusion that it cannot achieve the objective of ending the war with Hamas in a way that would satisfy Israel's security."
However, he noted that Israel plans to collaborate with the United Nations and the World Food Program to ensure that food and aid reach those in need within the Gaza Strip.
When asked if he believed hostages would return alive if Israel proceeded as he explained, Graham expressed hope.
He said: "I think there are people, perhaps, in Hamas who will accept safe passage if they release the hostages," implying that Israel should offer this to Hamas.
He added, "Hamas can end this tomorrow by laying down their arms and releasing the hostages. There is no future for the Palestinian people as long as Hamas exists. Therefore, all I can say is that you will witness, I believe, in the days and weeks ahead, a military effort to destroy Hamas, similar to what we did in Tokyo and Berlin to destroy the Nazis and the Japanese."
