The ministry spokesperson, Sadiq Al-Khadour, stated that the occupation's barriers, closures, and arrests have hindered the educational process safely in both the Gaza Strip, Jenin, and Tulkarem.

It is noted that approximately 46,000 students in the West Bank and around 2,000 students from Gaza who are outside Palestine took the exams, while students inside Gaza were prevented from taking the exams for the second consecutive year due to the ongoing genocide committed by the Israeli occupation forces.

The students were distributed among the branches as follows: 28,000 in the literary branch, 14,000 in the scientific branch, and the remainder in other branches.

The Ministry confirmed that arrangements are being made to hold the secondary exam in the Gaza Strip once the war ends, noting that today the results for the third session for Gaza students will be announced, and the second session will take place between August 13 and August 16.

According to data released by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, 16,607 students have been martyred and 26,271 have been wounded since the start of the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the West Bank on October 7, 2023.

It clarified that the number of students who have been martyred in Gaza since the beginning of the aggression has reached over 16,470, with 25,374 injured, while 137 students have been martyred in the West Bank, and 897 others were injured, in addition to the arrest of 754.
