Waleed Toufic Responds to Rumors of His Illness and Death: A Price I Have to Pay

SadaNews - Lebanese artist Waleed Toufic reassured the audience about his health condition, especially after reports circulated in recent hours about his illness and death. He decided to respond decisively through a video clip in which he denied suffering from a health crisis or being hospitalized.

Waleed Toufic appeared in a video on his personal Instagram account, where he indicated that his health is fine and that he has not been afflicted by any disease, saying: "My loves, a false news has surfaced as usual that I got sick, was hospitalized, and died."

He continued, "I am fine and in good health, thank God; I have not been hospitalized," considering that this is a price of social media that artists must bear.

At the same time, he took care to thank everyone who tried to check on his health due to those rumors, saying: "Thank you to all the artists, my friends, and my loves who asked about me. I am fine, thank God, Lord of the Worlds."

The audience and Waleed Toufic's followers interacted with the video, wishing him continual health, with some writing: "May God protect you from any harm from these people who are psychologically ill; their hobby is to harm with false news... May God bless your life and keep you healthy and shining," "May God protect you, my beloved Professor Waleed, and grant you health and wellness, and may you live long, O Lord," "And may evil be far from you; may God preserve and protect you and grant you health and wellness, and may you live long."

It is worth mentioning that Waleed Toufic appeared about a week ago in a televised interview in which he talked about his deep love and unlimited support for his fellow artist Fadl Shaker, who returned to the artistic scene with several songs recently after years of absence due to his legal crisis.

He clarified that Fadl Shaker cannot be considered just an artist, saying: "He is a dear friend and beloved to my heart. I was one of the first to wish for the production of works for him," praising his talent and voice and describing him as someone who resides in the soul.

He noted that the audience genuinely loved Fadl Shaker and that he never left their hearts despite his absence from the artistic community, saying: "This is the true artist who remains present despite his absence," indicating that he has been in contact with him over the past years, saying: "And I pray to God to completely relieve him. Fadl's voice has always been part of people's consciousness, which is evidence that he is an exceptional artist."

Regarding the situation in Lebanon, he expressed hope for a new era that ends all pain, especially since everyone dreams of seeing Lebanon in its best state, continuing with moving words: "The truth is that there is a deep wound in the heart of every Lebanese. Homes are still destroyed in the south, and the martyrs are still under the rubble... We need peace and love."

Waleed Toufic also addressed the long-standing controversy regarding the title of the Voice of Egypt, indicating that he rejects the idea of artistic classifications, affirming that there are several strong voices that cannot be classified.

He continued, "There is nothing called the Voice of Egypt; Sherine Abdel Wahab, Angham, and Amal Maher are among the first voices in Egypt. The audience loved Um Kulthum's songs from Amal Maher and George Wassouf; both were able to deliver Um Kulthum's songs to the youth."

At the same time, he praised the talent of the Egyptian artist Amal Maher, saying: "I don't like classifications; in the past, there were classifications because the number of singers was limited, but now everyone is the first in their style, yet Amal Maher is considered one of the first singers in Egypt and the Arab world."

It is worth noting that Waleed Toufic recently participated in a massive concert in collaboration with the artist Amal Maher as part of the Marasi Nights Festival in Egypt, which witnessed a large attendance under the slogan "Fully Booked."
