115 Martyrs Due to Famine in Gaza and the Danger Escalates for Children

SadaNews - The Government Media Office in Gaza reported that 115 Palestinians have died due to famine and malnutrition amidst a near-total lack of food, water, and medicine.

The office added in a statement, "As famine worsens in the sector, we call on the world to immediately break the siege and allow the entry of baby formula and aid for approximately 2.4 million besieged people," warning against the spread of false narratives regarding the entrance of aid.

Today, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced two new deaths due to famine and malnutrition in the sector.

The International Rescue Committee expressed horror at reports of children and infants dying of hunger in the Gaza Strip.

The committee added in a statement that what we are witnessing in Gaza is a man-made hunger crisis driven by strict restrictions and a near-total siege on aid, demanding the entry of food, water, and fuel for over two million people in desperate need in the Gaza Strip.

In a related context, Amnesty International stated that Israel continues to use starvation as a method of war and a tool for committing genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza.

The organization added in a statement that the suffering of the hungry in Gaza is exacerbated by the Israeli aid distribution system used as a devastating weapon of war, noting that Israel deliberately starves Palestinians and that genocide in Gaza must stop now.

It stated that Israel must immediately lift restrictions on the entry of aid and allow the United Nations to distribute the aid, and that it must allow Palestinians in Gaza to receive aid without restrictions and safely.

The organization further stated that countries should break their silence and act urgently to ensure Israel's full compliance with international law.

Israel has besieged Gaza for 18 years, and around 1.5 million Palestinians out of approximately 2.2 million in the sector are homeless after genocidal warfare destroyed their homes.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been conducting a genocide war in Gaza, resulting in over 202,000 Palestinians dead or injured - most of whom are children and women - and more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people and famine that has claimed many lives.
