Netanyahu Conditions Hamas's Surrender for Ceasing War

SadaNews - The head of the Israeli occupation government, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced that the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip will not stop unless the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announces its "complete surrender".

Netanyahu stated, "The moment Hamas lays down its arms and surrenders, we might allow it to leave Gaza; only then will the war end."

On another note, Netanyahu mentioned in statements reported by Israeli media that "there is no chance for peace with the Iranian regime," but he pointed out that "the Iranian people want to overthrow the regime," reflecting the increasing rift between Tel Aviv and Tehran.

The Israeli Prime Minister also asserted that "Americans who do not support Israel do not support the United States," in his words.

In parallel, the American network "CNN" cited sources familiar with the ceasefire negotiations who stated that the United States warned Hamas that it had "nearly lost its patience," demanding a quick response to a ceasefire proposal offered by mediators a week ago, which also includes a prisoner exchange deal.

According to the network, the United States provided Hamas with guarantees that Israel would participate in negotiations aimed at ending the war during the proposed 60-day ceasefire period.

However, one of the sources confirmed that these guarantees "could be withdrawn if the movement does not agree quickly."

While attention is currently focused on Hamas's stance regarding the offer, officials involved in the negotiations confirmed that the primary obstacle in recent weeks was the Israeli stance, particularly its refusal to provide clear maps for the withdrawal of its forces from the strip, which the movement demands as part of any agreement.

Several officials familiar with the negotiations confirmed that an agreement could be reached during the current week if Hamas's leadership in Gaza agrees to the current framework.

They clarified that the recent meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Washington contributed to speeding up the resolution of the outstanding issues, primarily withdrawal maps and guarantees for a permanent ceasefire during the truce period.
