Trump: We Will Strike Iranian Nuclear Facilities Again If Necessary
SadaNews: U.S. President Donald Trump announced his readiness to carry out repeated strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities "if necessary."
Trump's threat came after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi spoke to Fox News about the significant damage following the previous attack, stating that his country is not ready to engage in negotiations with the United States regarding the nuclear program at this time.
Trump wrote on his "Truth Social" platform: "Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is talking about Iranian nuclear facilities: 'The damage is severe, they have been destroyed'... This is what I said, of course, and we will repeat it if necessary."
On June 21, American strikes using B-2 bombers destroyed nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordo, which were hidden under a mountain at a depth of half a mile. These strikes followed Israeli attacks that resulted in the deaths of high-ranking Iranian military leaders and at least 14 nuclear scientists.
However, estimates of the extent of the destruction varied between President Trump and other officials. Trump confirmed via his "Truth Social" platform that the strikes were "extermination" of Iranian nuclear facilities, noting that the most significant damage occurred underground. For his part, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth stated that the impact of the bombs was "buried under the rubble" in Iran, and that those who question the success of the operation are trying to undermine the president.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe stated that the strikes inflicted "severe damage" on the Iranian nuclear program, indicating that the operation included the dropping of 14 heavy "bunker buster" bombs during an 18-hour mission.
For its part, the Israeli Atomic Energy Agency said that the Fordo site has become "non-operational," and that the strikes have hindered the Iranian nuclear program "for several years."
American and Israeli officials also agreed that Iran was unable to transfer enriched uranium before the strikes, and that the centrifuges in Natanz and Fordo suffered irreparable damage.
International Atomic Energy Agency Director Rafael Grossi described the damage as "huge," confirming that Iran will face significant difficulties in continuing its nuclear program at the same pace as before.
For her part, White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly praised the operation, stating that the world has become "safer" thanks to Trump's decisive leadership.
