Gideon Levy: Israel is Implementing a Systematic Ethnic Cleansing Plan in Gaza

SadaNews - Israeli writer Gideon Levy stated that it has now become clear, for the first time since the beginning of the war on Gaza, that Israel has a clear and deliberate plan for ethnic cleansing and forcing Palestinians to leave the enclave forcibly.

He added that the Israeli leadership is no longer just reacting to Hamas, but is strategically working to empty the besieged enclave of its Palestinian population.

In his article in Haaretz, Levy compared Israeli policies to the methods used by Nazi Germany during World War II to facilitate the emigration of Jews, where a central agency was established for this purpose, which was headed by Adolf Eichmann.

He mentioned that Joseph Brunner, the father of the current head of the Israeli intelligence agency (Mossad) David Barnea, was three years old when he fled Nazi Germany with his parents before the plan to evacuate Jews from there was implemented.

The leftist Israeli writer noted in his article that grandchild Barnea visited Washington last week to discuss the evacuation of Gaza from its inhabitants. He added that Israeli Channel 12 reported that Barnea informed US officials that Israel had begun talks with three countries to convince them to accept the displaced Palestinians on their territories.

Levy stated that it is ironic that history has shied away in embarrassment, as Barnea - who is himself the grandson of one of the Jewish refugees who experienced ethnic cleansing in Nazi Germany - speaks of ethnic cleansing against Palestinians, without recalling the memory of the Holocaust.

The article's writer revealed that the first phase of the plan to displace two million Palestinians from their homeland includes moving a large portion of the population to a concentration camp to facilitate an effective deportation process.

He pointed out that the BBC published an investigative report last week based on satellite images, showing the systematic destruction being carried out by the Israeli army throughout Gaza, where village after village is being wiped off the face of the earth and flattened to build the concentration camp, making life in Gaza no longer possible.

He went on to say that Israel is quietly committing a crime against humanity by systematically eliminating any chance for life there, while preparing the infrastructure to gather Palestinians in a "humanitarian" city intended to be a transit camp before their deportation to Libya, Ethiopia, and Indonesia, which are the destinations identified by Barnea, according to Channel 12's report.

Levy described what Israel is doing as a long-term ethnic cleansing plan for Gaza, stating that no one can accuse Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of waging a purposeless war anymore, "but there is a goal, and it is a criminal goal," adding that no one can say to Israeli military leaders that their soldiers are dying for no reason: "They are dying in a war of ethnic cleansing."

According to the writer, if the humanitarian aid project has cost hundreds of Palestinian lives in Gaza, then the deportation will cost the lives of tens of thousands of them, warning that nothing will prevent Israel from implementing its plan. Levy seems to hint at international complicity in this.

In a telling approach that involves sarcasm, he concluded his article by referring to David Barnea not as the head of the Mossad, but as the head of what he called the "Central Agency for Palestinian Immigration," even describing him as a "compliant senior official, who has never caused any friction with his superiors."

Levy asked: "Does that sound familiar?" He said sarcastically: "If you asked him to rescue hostages, he would do it. If you asked him to prepare for the deportation of millions of people, that is a task that does not cause him any problem, as he is, after all, just an executor of orders."
