UNRWA Renews Call to Lift Siege on Gaza to End Famine
SadaNews - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East "UNRWA" renewed its call on Monday to lift the Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip to end the famine there.
The agency said on the X platform: "We are receiving desperate messages about the famine from Gaza, including from our colleagues."
It reported that "the prices of food items have increased forty-fold," referring to the ramifications of the ongoing siege.
It added, "Meanwhile, on the outskirts of Gaza, UNRWA holds a sufficient amount of stored food in its warehouses to meet the needs of all its residents for more than three months."
The UN agency continued: "Lift the siege, and allow aid to enter safely and on a large scale."
