Due to Settler Attacks.. Water Pumping Stopped from Ein Samiya Wells

SadaNews: In an unprecedented development, the Jerusalem Governorate Water Authority announced a complete halt to the pumping from the wells and water stations in the Ein Samiya area, east of Kafr Malik, due to the escalating attacks by settlers on vital facilities and infrastructure there.

The authority confirms that its teams have lost technical and administrative control over the entire water system in Ein Samiya, due to a series of assaults that directly targeted electricity networks, pumping equipment, communication systems, and surveillance cameras, leading to a total cessation of operations and disruption of water supply to dozens of Palestinian villages and towns in northern and eastern Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate.

The authority emphasized that the area is still experiencing disruptions in internet services and communication lines, which complicates technical access or the restart of the stations, and prevents securing the necessary protection for field teams.

The Jerusalem Governorate Water Authority appeals to all official and human rights bodies, locally and internationally, for immediate and urgent intervention to stop these dangerous assaults, warning that the continuation of the situation as it is will cause a humanitarian disaster threatening over 70,000 citizens by depriving them of their basic right to water.

The authority also called for international protection for Palestinian water sources, and for real pressures to be imposed to halt the systematic destruction of their main sources and water resources.
