The Syrian government evacuates 1500 people from Bedouin tribes in Sweida

SadaNews - Syrian government buses entered the city of Sweida to evacuate 1500 people from Bedouin tribes as part of the government's efforts with parties in the Sweida province to halt the escalation.

The official news agency "SANA" published a video showing the entry of buses belonging to the Syrian government to evacuate individuals from the Bedouin tribes following the implementation of a ceasefire agreement that ended violent clashes lasting for days between the Bedouins and the Druze.

The head of the internal security forces in the Sweida province in southwestern Syria, Brigadier General Ahmad Al-Dalati, confirmed that families of the detained Bedouins in the province will be released in the coming hours.

Al-Dalati indicated that measures will be taken to ensure the safe return of those families to their homes, as part of the state's commitment to protect all its citizens and maintain the unity of the national fabric.

He pointed out that this operation came as a result of mediation efforts made by the Syrian government with parties in Sweida province, focusing on stopping the escalation and promoting reconciliation.

He emphasized the necessity of adhering to the ceasefire by all parties and opening the way for state institutions to take on their role in restoring security and stability to the province.

The Syrian presidency announced last Saturday morning a ceasefire in Sweida between the Syrian tribes and Druze factions, demanding all parties to adhere to the execution of the agreement under penalty of accountability.

Meanwhile, Syrian Civil Defense teams transferred 73 citizens coming from Sweida province on Sunday, most of whom were children and women, from the humanitarian crossing in the city of Busra Al-Sham to safe areas, and a family was secured to the Nasib border crossing with Jordan in Daraa province.

The Civil Defense statement said: "The Syrian Civil Defense continues to contribute to providing basic necessities for citizens in shelters in cooperation with other humanitarian organizations, through the emergency response operations room established by the Ministry of Emergencies and Disaster Management."
