The President Initiates a Wide International Communication Campaign with World Leaders and International Organizations to Stop the Crime of Starvation Facing the People of Gaza

SadaNews - President Mahmoud Abbas has initiated a wide international communication campaign with world leaders and international organizations to stop the crime of starvation being imposed on our people in Gaza. He warned of the ongoing crime of starvation that the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip are subjected to, which has been deliberately enforced by the Israeli occupation authorities, an act that is considered a war crime for which the Israeli occupation bears responsibility.

The President stated in the messages sent to world leaders and international organizations: We address you with this message at a fateful and difficult moment that our Palestinian people are experiencing, as a result of the systematic practices of the Israeli occupation government that commits acts of genocide, killing, destruction, and starvation against our people, without deterrence or accountability, in the Gaza Strip, undermining the two-state solution, tightening the noose around the Palestinian people and their national institutions, with the aim of preventing the realization of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, and destroying peace-making efforts, keeping our region and the world in a state of tension and instability.

The President added: Our urgent priority today is to achieve an immediate and permanent ceasefire, release hostages and prisoners, allow urgent humanitarian assistance, especially food and medical supplies into the Gaza Strip, in addition to the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the area, and enabling the State of Palestine to assume its full responsibilities, leading to a comprehensive truce, halting the crimes of settlers and ongoing assaults on Islamic and Christian sanctities, and moving towards a political process that ends the occupation based on international legitimacy resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the adoption of a peace plan with international guarantees and a specific timeline during the upcoming international peace conference in New York.

He continued addressing leaders and dignitaries: The most pressing matter at this moment is to stop the genocide against our people in the Gaza Strip through killings in front of aid distribution centers and deliberate starvation aimed at instilling despair in the hearts of Palestinians and displacing them. We cannot tolerate or remain silent about this situation, which necessitates urgent intervention from you and from the international community to pressure Israel to immediately allow food and medical supplies into Gaza to save thousands of children, women, and elderly people who are dying of starvation due to the blockade and the prohibition of humanitarian aid.

The President warned of the grave dangers posed by Israel's destructive policies to the Palestinian people, stating that while the children, women, and elderly of Gaza are starving and being killed cold-bloodedly in front of aid centers, the Palestinian National Authority is undergoing an unprecedented financial and economic blockade, due to the withholding of Palestinian tax revenues, which exceeded two billion dollars, by the Israeli government, in a clear attempt to undermine the work of the Palestinian government and paralyze its capacity to meet its obligations toward our people.

He added while addressing the world: We appreciate your supportive positions for the Palestinian right and the two-state solution, and for recognizing and realizing the Palestinian state. We look forward to your urgent intervention to pressure the Israeli government to stop the starvation policy, secure immediate humanitarian aid entry, and release the Palestinian tax revenues, enabling the National Authority to fulfill its vital duties toward our people, allowing it to assist displaced families in returning to their living areas and provide essential aid including shelter, water, electricity, education, healthcare, and more, and obliging the occupying state to end settler terrorism, the destruction campaigns of camps and the displacement of their residents, halting all types of assaults in the West Bank, stopping settlement activities, annexation attempts of Palestinian lands in the West Bank, and ending the assaults on Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem, Hebron, Taybeh, and Gaza.

The President addressed world leaders and international organizations saying: "The time we are going through is extremely critical, requiring the free world to stand up to prevent genocide through murder, starvation, and siege."
