UNRWA: Israel is starving one million children in Gaza
SadaNews - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) confirmed today, Sunday, that the Israeli occupation authorities are starving one million children in Gaza.
UNRWA stated that the Israeli occupation authorities are starving civilians in Gaza, including one million children.
It called for an end to the blockade and for urgent permission to allow the entry of food, medicine, and all basic living necessities for the citizens of Gaza.
UNRWA had warned that malnutrition among children under five had doubled between March and June, as a result of the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip.
It explained that its health centers and medical points conducted nearly 74,000 screenings for children during this period to detect malnutrition, identifying around 5,500 cases of moderate acute malnutrition and more than 800 cases of severe acute malnutrition.
