Mustafa discusses with the UNDP representative efforts for relief and emergency response in the Gaza Strip

SadaNews - Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met today, Saturday, in his office in Ramallah, with the new UNDP Special Representative in Palestine, Jaques Silers, in the presence of the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Stefane Salameh, and the Minister of Social Development, Samah Hamad.

The Prime Minister welcomed the new UN representative, emphasizing the pivotal and important role of the UNDP in assisting the Palestinian people, supporting development in Palestine, and enhancing the capabilities of state institutions and institutional development.

Mustafa also stressed the need to intensify international pressure to open all crossings of the Gaza Strip to allow for the entry of aid that meets urgent needs, and to halt the escalating famine that the people of the Strip are suffering from.

Mustafa highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation with various international relief organizations operating in the sector and the efforts made through the government's operations room regarding the coordination of relief efforts, in addition to coordinating urgent and emergency interventions for families affected by the assaults of the occupation and its settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, particularly the continuous assaults and destruction of camps and infrastructure in the northern West Bank.

The Prime Minister also pointed to the ongoing efforts and coordination with the Arab Republic of Egypt and all concerned parties regarding holding a reconstruction conference.
