Occupation Bombs Latin Church in Gaza.. Italy Responds: "Unacceptable"
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation bombed the Latin Church of the Holy Family, affiliated with the Latin Patriarchate, in Gaza City today, Thursday, resulting in injuries.
Local sources reported that the priest of the Latin Monastery was injured due to the Israeli targeting of the church in Gaza City.
The Prime Minister of Italy stated that "Israel's targeting of the Latin Monastery Church in Gaza is unacceptable."
For its part, the Presidential Commission for the Follow-up of Church Affairs in Palestine condemned the Israeli occupation's bombing of the Latin Patriarchate's Church of the Holy Family in Gaza City.
In a statement issued today, Thursday, it expressed its concern over the bombing of the church, which resulted in several injuries, including the church's priest, Gabriele Romanelli, along with significant damage to the church building.
It emphasized that targeting churches and religious institutions under any pretext is an unacceptable and condemnable act, posing a direct threat to the authentic Christian existence in the Holy Land.
The commission called on the international community and human rights organizations to take urgent action to ensure the protection of places of worship in the Gaza Strip and to put an end to assaults on both civilians and holy sites alike.
The commission noted that it will continue to monitor developments in coordination with local churches and relevant institutions until all details of the attack are fully clarified.
