Katz: The Syrian regime must leave the Druze in Suwayda
SadaNews - Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that Israel will continue to attack Syrian regime forces until they withdraw from Suwayda, coinciding with renewed clashes in the city between Syrian security forces and armed groups.
Katz called on the Syrian government to withdraw its forces from Suwayda, saying, "The Syrian regime must leave the Druze in Suwayda and pull its forces back."
The Israeli Defense Minister asserted, "We will not abandon the Druze in Syria, and we will enforce the disarmament policy we have decided upon."
Meanwhile, the Syrian Ministry of Defense's media department reported that outlaw groups have returned to attack Syrian forces in Suwayda.
The ministry stated that its forces are responding to the sources of fire within Suwayda while adhering to the rules of engagement to protect civilians.
For its part, Syrian state news reported that Syrian security forces have started combing through the eastern neighborhoods of Suwayda for armed groups described by the Syrian Interior Ministry as lawless.
