Interior Ministry: A Radical Solution for the Crisis of Those Stranded at King Hussein Bridge Will Be Witnessed in the Coming Hours

SadaNews - The spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, Muhammad Al-Tamimi, stated that the Jordanian side, within the framework of coordination and joint cooperation, confirmed that the next few hours will witness a radical solution to the crisis of those stranded at the King Hussein Bridge, ensuring their safe return to their homeland.

Al-Tamimi added to the official agency that the Jordanian Minister of Interior, Mazen Al-Farayah, conducted an inspection visit at the King Hussein Bridge, heading a high-level Jordanian delegation to follow up on this issue, where he listened to the remarks of travelers and workers at the site, pointing out that the coordination and partnership between the two sides over the last 24 hours were at the highest levels to address all existing obstacles and issues.

The Palestinian Ministry of Interior had received complaints yesterday, Saturday, regarding unofficial entities selling transportation tickets to travelers across the bridge at prices exceeding the official price, which caused a severe crisis.

Al-Tamimi clarified that there are ongoing development and expansion works in the departure and arrival halls, in addition to improving the quality of procedures and the technological work system, noting that citizens will notice a tangible difference in this aspect over the coming months. The Jordanian side also announced a project to develop and expand the King Hussein Bridge, which will facilitate the movement and transit of travelers.

For his part, the spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Interior, Abdul Karim Abu Dalo, said that the procedures that have been taken will make a significant difference starting from today, Sunday, stressing that Minister Al-Farayah has directed the relevant authorities at the bridge to address all complaints and remarks from travelers regarding the platform immediately.

He indicated that the ministry will work on setting a limit on the number of tickets that can be purchased via the platform for each person, in addition to directing the "Jet" transport company, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, to provide a set of instructions and guidelines on the tickets regarding the departure times and the time of arrival.

He explained that travelers arriving several hours before their departure time cause severe congestion at the bridge, calling for adherence to arriving only half an hour before the scheduled departure time to avoid long waiting times or exacerbating the crisis.

Abu Dalo also urged travelers to purchase tickets from reliable sources to avoid exploitation that occurs outside official platforms.

The electronic booking service for travelers through the King Hussein Bridge was launched on Monday, June 23, through a specialized electronic platform developed in coordination with the Ministry of Interior.
