Gunmen Kidnap and Kill 9 Bus Passengers in Pakistan
SadaNews - Officials revealed today, Friday, that gunmen killed nine bus passengers after kidnapping them in the Balochistan province located in southwestern Pakistan, according to Reuters.
Rind, a spokesperson for the provincial government, stated that the passengers were abducted from several buses on the evening of Thursday.
Government official Naveed Alam explained that their bodies were found with gunshot wounds in mountainous areas during the night.
No group has claimed responsibility yet.
In the past, separatist gunmen from the Baloch minority have been involved in similar incidents involving the killing of passengers after identifying them as originating from Punjab province in the east of the country.
The "Balochistan Liberation Army" is the strongest among several rebel groups that have been active for a long time in the mineral-rich border region adjacent to both Afghanistan and Iran.
