Israeli Media: Progress in Doha and Washington Talks Regarding Gaza
SadaNews Translation - Israeli media outlets confirmed this Wednesday evening that progress has been made in the ceasefire negotiations with Hamas.
According to Channel 13, Israel has shown significant flexibility in recent hours regarding contentious issues, especially the withdrawal from the Mouraj axis separating Khan Younis and Rafah.
The channel quoted informed sources stating that the current negotiations are making progress, but there are some difficulties regarding the withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, as SadaNews translated.
It indicated that mediators are trying to reach a consensus amid Israel's insistence on continuing its presence in Rafah.
It also pointed out that parallel to the negotiations in Qatar, discussions are taking place in the United States, with the participation of representatives from Doha, the head of the Israeli negotiating delegation Ron Dermer, and U.S. envoy Steve Wheetkov present.
Meanwhile, Channel 12 reported notable progress in the talks, even concerning the withdrawal from Rafah.
The channel highlighted, as translated by SadaNews, a tense meeting held between Dermer and representatives from Qatar, who warned of the potential collapse of the discussions, with Wheetkov stressing the need to continue and succeed in the negotiations, fulfilling U.S. President Donald Trump's wishes to end the war.
During the meeting, Dermer stated that Netanyahu is facing political constraints.
According to the channel, Israel later presented a new plan regarding the withdrawal from Rafah.
